My Impossible List

I found an old bucket list of mine in an old, dusty, diary I had written back in high school. In the 15 years since I graduated high school, had roughly 20 items on it and none of them have been checked off.

What a punch in the gut it was.

The teenager-me must’ve thought future-me would deal with it – that it would just happen.

And I think I started pretending to enjoy the kind of life I had …one I wasn’t actually all interested in having.

To fix that, I made my impossible list. Inspired by Thomas Frank and Joel Runyon, who created the world’s first impossible list, and defined the very important difference between the impossible list and the regular bucket list.

I went crazy and let loose with the ‘What if money was not an issue’? and allowed myself to daydream and pour out everything onto this list.

In layman’s terms, an impossible list is ever-evolving and filled with things often considered ‘impossible’ even to ourselves. The impossible list evolves as we evolve, and challenges us on how we live. From flights of fancy to reality. It also helps me to take stock of my current state of life.

Rather than a list of hopeful wishes, the impossible list challenges me to do things I never thought I could do. And I publish it here for all to see to keep me accountable…

Alright then, challenge accepted

This is my list of deeply personal and impossible things…
